Situated within Wilton Works near Middlesbrough, Wilton Power Station has 9 x 33MW Metropolitan Vickers/AEI turbine-generator sets, fed from 9 x Babcock and Wilcox boilers.
Wilton Power Station has nine 33MW Metropolitan Vickers/AEI turbine-generator sets. The first six turbines were commissioned in 1953, and an additional three units were added in 1965.
The nine boilers at Wilton Power Station were manufactured by Babcock and Wilcox. The boiler house also contains the original pulverising mills, some of the earliest still in existence.
